I'm running minimax m2.7 locally (pretty good!). Tried stepfun 3.5 flash (kind of weak) and mimo v2.5 flash (tended to loop real hard). Looking forward to testing stepfun 3.7. Looks pretty good benchmark-wise.

Do you mean MiMo V2 Flash? V2.5 doesn't have a Flash version.

You're right. I mean MiMo V2.5. The smaller model compared to MiMo V2.5 Pro.

Why does the website automatically try to download a PDF called "Heat_Treatment_Report"?
Edit: It appears to be the missing content from the "Engineering - Heat Treatment Analysis" demo

Everything looked meh so far, until entered the visual recognition and reasoning chapter. That was very impressive. Very cool to see more vendors pushing towards models understanding images instead of just performing OCR.
I just wish they put a little bit of energy on making their service usable for non-chinese users. At the moment, their website assumes I speak chinese and when I manually click on "en", the website dynamically translates parts into english, I experience this as half baked solution.

I don’t even see the “en” button. Have to use browser translation which distorts the website

Stepfun 3.5 was my daily driver, and I’ve been blown away at how good it is (even vs Qwen3.6 27B). So happy 3.7 came out!

What's wrong with the name? The step function is a pretty well known one

"StepFun"

What is wrong with that? Sounds like only you find something wrong with the name, whatever it may be.

I'm talking objectively, I use their models, but you really can't see why they wouldn't reach mass market with this name, really?

I'm honestly not sure what you're getting it, maybe you should spell it out instead of acting as if it's some arcane knowledge and we're expected to read your mind.

My guess is "Fun with the Step[mom]". Well... grow up or go to reddit.

The pricing in their subscription plan also look quite generous. https://platform.stepfun.com/step-plan
